@vasallizinni Look up the National Personnel Records Center, in St. Louis MO. They should be able to point you in the right direction, in order to find his DD-214 and service records.

I blocked his death out since 8 as a means of dealing with not acknowledging I didn't have a father or was supposed to have a father, which helped make seem there was nothing abnormal and thus never felt sorry for myself. I am now ready to find out more because, I did have a father and it would have been hell to deal with growing up without him if I didn't block it out back then, which was not intentional. It was shock and fear. When you don't expect something it's easier. No regrets. I survived

My father was in WW2 us army aior corp I think. but he was on some horseback unit before the war started and then once started, they eliminated the horse unit and turned then into ?? I have very little information on my fathers military record. Where or which agency would have those records. He never talked about that war, and every time I asked him he would say nothing and look down, he died when I was 8 and I never looked into his records. I blocked his death since. rank, staff sgt.
