Interesting point;

the rival fights are all time-based in how you fight them;

with metal sonic, you hit him after he's attacked - PAST

with Shadow, you hit him WHILE he's trying to attack you - PRESENT

with Silver, you hit him BEFORE he attacks - FUTURE.

Doing the hard mode of Egg Dragoon, it only took me a minute longer to beat than the regular, and regular took around 3 minutes.

because of this LP, when i got my sonic generations 3DS i couldn't wait to fight perfect chaos or egg dragoon... but then i found out that the levels and bosses are different... and the only time you move in 3D is during half of the final boss..... thanks for that game designers, thanks a lot.

Sonic does use chaos control repeatedly when you fight him as Shadow. And warping to the cannon is probably much shorter range than warping from a capsule back to the Ark. And shadow couldn't warp through those levels because he was no where near a chaos emerald during those times.(At that point, I think even he hadn't mastered it enough to use it with out an emerald.)
