Mieczysław Weinberg (also Moisey Vainberg, Moisey Samuilovich Vaynberg; Russian: Моисей Самуилович Вайнберг; Polish: Mieczysław Wajnberg) (December 8, 1919 in Warsaw - February 26, 1996 in Moscow) was an important Soviet composer of Polish-Jewish origin. He lived in the Soviet Union and Russia since 1939 and lost most of his family in the Holocaust.

He actually composed about 25 symphonies. Some are called "Chamber Symphonies" and so the exact numbering is a little confusing.

I didn´t know before that Wainberg has composed 12 (!!) symphonies !
I think, he was very industriously, full ideas, energies and productive! A genius!
