Starcraft 2 Zerg Strategy In Depth "Surrounds and Flanking"
First video of many detailing Zerg Micro and Macro Strategies.
In this video we will look at Surrounding and Flanks. They are a very important part of Zerg micro and every game you play should use in in one form or another.

Guys, if I missed anything please add your comments or video responses. Also, share with us your favorite maps to flank on and key engagement points you favor in the comments below!

  • in the surround version of 23Roaches vs 5 Thor, you have an SCV in the pile probably repairing?

  • @S1lv3rblad3 I noticed that too but forgot to mention it. I had the SCV's to repair a failed demonstration. My numbers were hard to achieve, first they had to be fairly similar in cost and then be theoretical in game scenarios. It was a pain in the ass :D Yea though, that 1 SCV's further proves that the Surround is much more beneficial. 23 Roaches 5 Thors head on 1 Thor survives, 23 Roaches 5 Thors 1 Auto repair SCV with Roach Surround about 5 Roaches left.

    Thanks guys!

  • Very nice, but I can BARELY hear the audio with Youtube and computer volume at max.

  • @Wallysigmar Odd, I mixed it at half system volume. I did have head phones on though. Guys, let me know if your having a hard time hearing it. I will re-encode it again if so.

  • This is excellent, thanks!

  • really good

  • I think if they walk directly over your banelings and zerglings poping right under them is just as good. I swear against biological this way.

  • As an intermediate zerg player if it wasn't for burrow zerg would suck bad. once you see some mass stalkers or tight balls of marines a few burrowed zerglings and banelings are unstoppable while they would otherwise be suicidal wastes of money.

  • good guide.

  • Great, awesome vid man!!! Def deserves a thumbs up.

Would u be able to put up more strategies for Zerg?

btw I could hear you clearly.

  • Nice job. It's surprising how much of a difference surrounding has made. It makes you appreciate how much the change would be on a massive scale, rather than just a few units. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

  • Good video. Saw your battle.net forum thread. liked

  • The sound wasn't too big of a problem.
