There is never morning fog in the hills. This country home in a park-like setting offers endless possibilities for enjoyment. We are a short walk from the Quail Hollow Ranch Equestrian Park and an Environmental Preserve, where the founders of Sunset Magazine created the dream of "California living".
Living on this country estate seems like being a world away, yet it is a short commute to Silicon Valley. Driving time to the San Jose International Airport is about 40 minutes. The gorgeous beaches of Santa Cruz can be reached in about twenty minutes, while the redwood forests are about ten minutes down the road. You can also rent boats and canoes and go fishing at Loch Lomond Reservoir, or Zip down the Lines at Mount Hermon through the tree canopies.
At Home:
Fabulous new kitchen and new Master bathroom with large walk in stone shower. Watch the parade of wildlife cross our meadow from the nearly wall-to-wall picture window above the kitchen sink. Cook on the gas stove and use upgraded appliances, dishes and cookware in our newly renovated country kitchen. The adjoining stone fireplace family room faces a wall of glass that provides filtered light through the immense canopy of an ancient oak tree. And is a playground for squirrels and home for flocks of visiting birds. A picnic table and barbecue can be found under the spreading oak in the backyard.
Wake up in a beautiful four poster bed and feel the softness of the high quality sheets, flip on the gas fireplace and step into an oversized shower in the master-bedroom suite, or take time to enjoy a cup of coffee on the adjoining private deck looking over a beautiful view.
The second bedroom is small. It may be used as part of the master bedroom suite, or as a den with an oversized chair that pulls out to form a single bed.
Another comfy queen-size bed with pillow top mattress is in the third bedroom, across the hall from a second full bathroom that has an old fashion-soaking tub.
An additional sleeping area can be created in the living room. The new leather sofa turns into a double bed. Extra bedding is provided for Aeroflot mattresses with auto inflate.
A new front-loading washer and dryer are housed in the detached garage with a workshop space, near an enclosed dog run. For those who can't leave work behind, the house is equipped with phone and Internet and a convenient Telework Center is close by.
Hidden Treasures of Santa Cruz:
Within five miles of this great mountain retreat you can find the Trout Farm Inn with its community swimming pool, creek side setting, Wi-Fi, pub food, and karaoke nights. The famous Don Quixote nightclub in Felton attracts top name entertainment on occasion. Loch Lomond Reservoir provides canoes, fishing boats and Bass Barges. Mount Hermon offers the finest zip lines in the Region. Discover the world of loggers that followed the gold rush in the San Lorenzo Valley Museum, or in the Brookdale Lodge where the River runs through the middle of the Restaurant.
This home is just 10 miles to Santa Cruz, where you can enjoy the Famous Beach Boardwalk, De Laveaga Disk Golf, World Famous Pasatiempo Golf Course or Boulder Creek Golf course next to Big Basin State Park. Only a few minutes from the intersections of two highways, you can easily navigate to anywhere along the central coast, including the wonderful almost empty beaches north of town.
