One of Costa Rica's most popular exports is bananas. For more than fifteen years, EARTH University faculty and staff have sought to ensure the most sustainable banana production possible in the humid tropics.

EARTH broke new ground in the banana industry with progressive programs in
waste management, recycling, water filtration and the use of natural fertilizers. These innovations have since become the norm in many commercial banana operations and have been promoted by EARTH alumni around the world.

Visitors can experience sustainable banana production process from beginning to end by touring the banana plantation and the banana packing plant.
