Is the Bible the Word of God, or is Jesus the Word of God? Is Jesus a Bible with legs? This week, John shows that the person of Christ is the ultimate text we must read. The scriptures point to Christ - but as He becomes our lens, all those scriptures easily fall into place. Christ is the key to interpreting and comprehending the incomprehensible. John also brings a Trinitarian perspective to the subject. This week's video offers a simple teaching with some very deep perspectives! • So John, please PLEASE don't tell me you are a modalist. The trinity is God in three persons. Each person is fully and equally God. Not 3 different "modes."

  • @dzpisx What have I ever said that causes you to think I believe that? LOL ... God exists as three persons, one substance. Father, Son and Spirit at the same time. Cheers!

  • @SonsofThunderPub Whew! Good. You scared me there at 7:22 ... Yes the Trinity is a mystery isn't it? But no they aren't modes, they are different persons. The Father is in charge, the Son always does the will of the Father, and the Holy Spirit points to Jesus. So I'd also say that there are "ranks," but each member is equally and fully God as the next. Lovellelujah!

  • @dzpisx No "ranks" ... that's worse than modalism :) Cheers!

  • I've got a question. How can Jesus be dead for 3 day's (or in hell) when he's inseparable from the trinity?

  • @IslandOfYoshi There's total unity in the Trinity. When His body was dead or alive it's the same. He was in Triunity before He was ever physically born. The life or death of the body doesn't change this unity. Anywhere He is, so is the Father & Spirit. Also: Bible doesn't really even say He went to hell. It says He "preached to souls in prison" and the church's creed simply says "He descended to the dead." But David also tells us even if he did go to "hell" God would be there too.

  • :O that was awesome

  • @SonsofThunderPub Ugh but even that came out wrong. See? You were right, it is a complicated topic. Nevermind. Love and peace, fellow believer! ~ <3

  • @SonsofThunderPub In the sense you probably assume I'm saying, no, that would be another heresy.

I'm saying the will of the Father is done by Jesus and the Holy Spirit, so in a sense, the Father commands, and the Son obeys because He loves the Father (but doesn't have to obey)

Ranks in that sense is not against the teaching of the Bible...

  • @SonsofThunderPub If he did go to Hell, that is where he got his heel bruised as he crushed the advesaries head into "BOLIVION".. I would love to see that on replay in Heaven.

  • Where does that Augustine quote come from?

  • It's the difference between Logos and Rhema- this is a very good word...
