It was a shame that Helen's management couldn't look beyond the "teenage heartache" stuff she was given to record in the early days. This clip shows that she was really much better that that.

Wow! An excellent version of an excellent song. I wish I was 40 years older!! Britain's best EVER and most underrated female artist.

What a shame they (the media) wanted her to stay that little girl with the big voice. She turned into a beautiful young woman and was mis-managed. but she survived
-
Excellent rendition. Proves that Helen could have been a great R&B artist like Mary Wells.
-
Excellent. Helen was certainly up there with American R&B vocalists such as Mary Wells.
-
@thefamilycat It was released as a single on Columbia DB 7340,the flipside is He Knows How To Love Me

great song ))
(only I wish if higher recording level sound available ))

I can't believe this girl wasn't popular in the states....she's awesome

@terrafirma91 This is sung with the same interpretion as Smokey Robinson. The difference, Helen is a woman with different timbre to her voice. The song itself can seem monotonous, good song though it is.

Don't talk utter shit man for fucks sake
-
she had a world class voice... she should have chosen better songs overall.

Fantastic! wizard1963uk thanks so much for sharing this with us.She recorded this originally in '64 but this looks like late 60's. Where and when does this come from and , more importantly, have you more like this?
