Using the Parallax PING))) module (available at Radio Shack or parallax.com) to send different MIDI notes based upon the distance of an object from the unit. Unfortunately, it doesn't make that cool submarine sound.

  • good choice in literature my friend

  • Nice, clever idea. Air drumming!

  • is that a korg monopoly?

  • That is fucking amazing

  • That would be cool for live performance.

  • That's a really cool trick, but I have a question:

Could you use a second module thing, and program it for, say, a ride and crash?

Maybe get a double bass pedal, mount a third module to a board or something, and have the left pedal be the hihat and the right one be the bass?

With some work, you could have a complete (real-life) air-drum kit, possibly!

That would be made of win.

Also, could you write up a quick how-to, because I'd like to try this as well.

    Thanks, and awesome work!

  • ...Protection from dust?

  • I'm speechless dude...I don't even know what to say, that's freakin incredible
