A tutorial on how to add Fire effects to your film. I'll demonstrate on Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro CS4 and Final Cut Express. However, all you need is editing software that can key out a solid colour. Here is the link for the explosions website:
http://www.detonationfilms.com

If you'd like to skip ahead to just watch how to achieve this effect on certain software that I demonstrate, for

After Effects, go to 01:53
Premiere Pro, go to 03:32
Final Cut, go to 05:14

Also, go to 07:18 for shoutouts ;D
I recorded this with ScreenFlow and Capture Me and compiled it in iMovie 09 with a bit of help from iMovie HD.

  • would it work on adobe premiere elements ? plzzz reply

  • @Andyproscooter I haven't actually got that, so I'm not too sure, but so long as you can use some form of chroma keying, it should work. Just try googling something like adobe "premiere elements chroma key" and that should help.

  • @HeapsGoodProductions how do I do it for iMovie?

  • @ILuvSelGomez1012 Well, the easiest way would be to get footage with a green background, then use the green screen effect. Just search for a tutorial on youtube, it's too hard to explain through text.

  • @williamp190596 You're welcome!

  • @HeapsGoodProductions ok thanks :)

  • @williamp190596 Sorry, I'm on mac, so I'm not entirely sure. But do you mean when it comes up with the window saying "Would you like to save or open this file?" Or something along the lines of that? If so, yeah choose save, and download it as whatever comes up first. I'm pretty sure you should be able to extract the footage from the winrar file then.

  • @HeapsGoodProductions do you save the format in winrar? thnx

  • @williamp190596 Go to the website I mention in the video, Detonation Films. There's heaps of free fire effects there.

  • do you have the link for free download fire effect ?
