Manila Thriller Over: 8 hostages dead, gunman Mendoza killed in Philippines bus storm

Philippine commandos have stormed the bus with 15 Chinese tourists held hostage by a former policeman, ending the 11-hour standoff in Manila. Eight of the hostages have been confirmed dead. The gunman has also been killed in the storming. The operation started with police firing on the bus' tires to immobilize it, then using hammers to smash windows, doors and windscreen. They were forced to withdraw after a series of hunshots rang out from inside the vehicle, but renewed the storming later.

that said, as a Hker, without any sincere apology from the gov, I am still quite pissed with ur gov, more so then mendoza, especially I read that the mayor (who is a pinoy-Chinese) is having a buffet throughout the whole ordeal. That said, we are just angry at your gov and certain individuals, we are not going to bring the anger to everyone of Phillipines origins, afterall there are pinoy Hkers as well. I think you don't understand one big thing. using milk with melamine as your argument just made Hkers more furious, because HK =/= mainland China. Don't even associated us with tenanmen square too, during that incident, HK as a city literally funded an operation to get ppl out. Commandos weren't used. They were regular police officers. Also, to the people here that are always using ethnicity to blame the cause of human tragedy....wise up and think about what you're saying. Far more worst things are happening around the world. Another thing - people need to brush up on history. I am a Filipino but I have a Chinese blood because my Great Grandfather used to live in Mainland China and they migrated here in the Philippines. Anyway, I don't get it why some Chinese are close-minded that they do not also think of what happened before. What did the Filipino community do when the milk with melamine issue happened? We did not hate the whole Chinese community or country as whole! Instead, we hate who made the milk with melamine.
