Just a simple carabiner to your pack, it's simpler easier than that.

Why not just stick the stickpic into a pocket? Wouldn't that be easier?

I like the way you think. I wouldn't trust the velcro. Maybe you could use the S-biners like you were thinking and use the velcro to wrap around the S-biner to keep it from flopping. Just a thought.

true, that would probably drive me crazy as well, what about just leaving attached to the bottom of your camera?

I do not know how the stick pic works. Any links to a photo page of it connected to the camera.

So Jason my fellow brother hiker, I love my LT4 poles soooo much. You? As for the stick pic, I first though to put a threaded hole into the handle of my pole. So I would screw the stick pic into it's holding place, just as I would the base of the camera, until I reach the summit and want to shoot myself. Instead I have just made my own stick pic that will stay on my pole full time. I will shoot a vid in the next 30 min.

That's a great idea! Have you actually done it? Got any pics?

I have a feeling the first trek out you loose it, Try some S-biners from nitize, they are double caribiner, hook one end throught the stikpic and the other through that orange loop. my .02

I thought about that and tried it. They flop around a lot and click the pole which drives me crazy. The Velcro is surprisingly secure and holds it closer to the shaft so it doesn't flop around. Maybe if you were doing some heavy bushwhacking you would want to take it off and put it in your pocket or something but for open trails, I'd say it's more than secure enough.
