The only people studying black bears in the state of Mississippi and associated with a state university are folks in the Wildlife Department at Mississippi State. Just a little jab I had to throw in there. I like the new mascot, but I'm not on board with the need to replace the old one. Sorry they had to go through that.

What an awful mascot! I love the way they trot him out to a bunch of sick children. Of course if you're sick in the hospital you're going to be happy with anyone who comes to see you. But those of us not in the hospital but in the stands don't want to see some stupid bear at our football games.
