These feet, they're seeking Kind-Hearted.
He who, since He from here departed,
Left this immeasurable darkness in here.
It's all sunless, starless, and so unclear.
It's all just heap upon heap of confusion.
I'm seeking with this deep and only aim:
That He would relight in here His flame,
So that I could know I again,
And see well enough to remove these chains.
This and this only, is my feet's conclusion.
I'm seeking, oh Lord, I am seeking you.
Hide no longer from my inner eye's view.
While Virtue, Truth and Love are seen as toys,
Eroded is all my joy;
Deprived of these three in my soul's domain,
Distress is all I gain.
Oh Saviour, secure me in your own seclusion.
I'm seeking you, my Lord Jesus Christ,
You, who reigns above all kings Most Highest,
Can with one finger break these chains,
Remove this fog, and vanish every pain:
Deliverer, free me from this world's delusion.
I'm seeking only you Lord Jesus Christ,
You're the one true pearl of greatest price.
Oh, plant, plant in here your pole of eternal light,
And your beams, will dissolve every site
That defiles, with their heavenly profusion.
