  • @AetheriusLamia He did for me. All you have to do is consider the number of agencies placed between you, your doctor and your healthcare compared to the failing Canadian system to see that Obamacare will be a nightmare... Well that and considering the difference in population. Really?? I want to live in a world where my doctor gets paid less than my snowblower mechanic?? No thanks...

  • Canadians who are satisfied with their system either:

    1) haven't been really sick or needed a specialist, or

    2) don't know any better, and don't realize that their healthcare is being subsidized by private health care from other countries (ie. The USA)

    3) are lucky/and or stupid.

  • I hope people who watch this realize the reason Doctors from Canada go to America is simply to make more money... Your money. I'm not saying that Canadian Doctors don't get a fair pay... They get paid well but some will always want more. Nothing wrong with that but it's something to consider when hearing Doctors talk about how private healthcare.

  • It seems ot me that this doctor is Canadian, and probably has seen some things that most people haven't from the outside. I'm not sure why people are attacking the messanger. Maybe he has something to contribute.

  • @lcoscare Agreed - that's a no-brainer!

  • Here's a good one. My grandparents were "snowbirds" who used to go to Arizona in the winter for less than 6 months, so they could escape the cold and still maintain their Cdn health care. My grandpa had a heart-attack and thanks to his travelers insurance, he was treated in the US for zero cost. Their friend also had a heart-attack and spent weeks in hospital before she died. Her husband buried her and had to declare bankrupcy over the medical bills because their insurance co screwed them over.

  • @lcoscare - btw, Canadians DO know better. Canadians watch ALL the American news and the majority actually own passports and travel to the US frequently, unlike the vast majority of Americans (only 25% even own passports) who never leave their bubble and only "know the world" through the TV or computer screen. Canadians get traveler's health insurance before coming to the US because they know how outrageously expensive it is. Canadians know WAY more about Americans and the US than vise versa.

  • @lcoscare - yep, Canadians are lucky. They're lucky they're not at the mercy of greedy insurance pigs (with executives who make up to $124 million a year while denying coverage to tens of thousands of those who apply for it). They're lucky they don't have to wonder if insurance companies will or will not approve treatments their doc recommends. They don't have to worry whether or not their insurance companies will find a reason to drop them from coverage (i.e. acne when they were 16).

  • @lcoscare - Oh really? Says who? You? Or this ONE Canadian doctor? 1. I've needed to see specialists and I have multiple family and friends who've battled and survived cancer and other serious illnesses. The wait times for emergency procedures are NO longer than here. 2. Explain how exactly Canadian health care is "subsidized by private health care from other countries"???? That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Facts/sources please?

  • @LadybugsTX - second, the Canadian system is not "failing". It can always be improved, but Canadians would REVOLT in the streets if someone said they are all of a sudden forced to be at the mercy of insurance companies who will deny them for pre-existing conditions. Again, every medical decision that the doctors make in this country have to go through the insurance company for approval - THOSE greedy insurance pigs stand between people and their doctors in the US. That's not "freedom".

  • @LadybugsTX - first, don't be such a sucker. Doctors are NOT paid less than "snowblower mechanics" in Canada. Hahahaha, the fact that he'd say that and that you'd believe him is soooo laughable. Doctors might not make as much money in Canada as they do down here in the US, but they are still paid very well, they're doing just fine, don't worry. And the better they are, the more specialized they are, the more they make.

  • This is such an absurd video. Again, he LIES when he says the gov't "comes between people and their doctor" in Canada - that is NOT true. Yet, in the US, it's the greedy, profit-driven insurance companies that ALWAYS come between my family and our doctors - telling us what they will or won't cover, doing whatever they can to get out of covering in order to maximize their profits. Explain to me how THAT is OK, doctor?
