A Direct Camera Upload in response to Tourette Syndrome. I would like to thank Piratesmile23, lotsofcurlz36 and ipromotepartners :D

NOTE- Due to the 10 minute limitation I had to cut a small portion of the video out. I would've have kept it unedited so for anyone curious what my tics are they would see all of them but I ran out of time, sorry.

  • I have Tourettes (never been diagnosed but it's obvious). My case is pretty mild compared to others but it used to be a lot worse. I'm 14 now and I've learned to control many of my tics in public to the point where it's hardly noticeable. I have mainly what I could consider motor tics and a couple verbal tics or whatever they're called. I will hopefully be getting a diagnosis this summer though so I'm looking forward to seeing what the neurologist says and then I will make Tourettes videos!

  • @coda623 Just remember that you're always "you" no matter what diagnosis you have.

  • @necrid86 I know. lotsofcurlz36 actually inspired me to be open about Tourettes and now I actually enjoy it most of the time.

  • @coda623 That's good. I wish you the best

  • youre honestly a very brave person for putting a video about such a sensitive topic up, knowing full well that there are dicks out there that feed off of trying to make other people mizerable, kudos my friend

  • I feel it is still widely unknown and as someone who has gone through the motions, I feel it is my responsibility to raise awareness and positive understanding. Thank you very much- Riley

  • It's a instructive video. Your ears are nice.

  • Oh, and I'm currently 26.

No work ("Disability, 100%"), no education (can't do exams for some reason. Complete writer's block every time), still live with my parents, sleep all day (sometimes several days without being able to get up), can't exercise, can't shower (long story), can't help out around the house, can't read books (one book a year if I'm lucky), etc. etc.

And yet, whenever I'm outside (on my way to/from a friend's place for gaming) I appear like a normal guy to all other observers.

  • Holy smokes! I was skimming through the comments and just as I read "u scared me", in all caps, you did just that. I seriously jumped in my chair. xD

I have tourettes too, but it's not that... loud. :P

I've never felt looked down on, but growing up wasn't exactly easy. Ignoring the fact that I'm on some heavy anti-depressants (keeps me sane-ish), I'd say things are actually worse now. How other people deal with tourette hasn't been a problem, it's how the tourette deals with me that's a problem.

  • I have tourettes too...and very similar tics..i was diagnosed when i was 7 and im 20 now...i was always embarrassed in school, so badly and then one day when i was about 14 i stood up in front of everyone and told them and it felt so great..thanks for making this video...its great..i am considering making a video now also :)

  • Great Video RIley:)
