Solo guitar performance by amazing Italian guitarist, Marco Porcu. He plays "Perpetual Emotion" by Al Dimeola as the opening piece for a live concert in Padova, Italy on July 23, 2006.

Born in Milan, Italy, Marco developed a passion for music at a young age. He received his first guitar as a gift, at age 9, when he was enrolled into the Lainate Private School in Milan. While there, he studied both classical and contemporary music and was influenced by a variety of classical and modern artists. At age 17, he was introduced to the fire of flamenco jazz, as played by Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, and Paco De Lucia, and to the passionate tango music of Astor Piazzola. By age 21, Marco was composing.

  • Why I have feeling that nobody is listening him? :(

  • I understand that it is one part venue and one part cultural. This concert was thrown together with just three weeks notice. Marco usually plays in ensemble. Nice job indeed!!!

  • Dear Marco,

AWESOME job & probably even better than how Al DiMeola himself. This note is no way an insult or anything. But you are a phenomenal player and I really hope that you are able to let MARCO shine through in his own style. It's kinda scary, but you even move like Al DiMeola with the shoulder lifts and movements. I know how important it is to have influences.I just hope they don't dominate your talent and expression. I would love to hear your stuff! u r 1 of the best players I have seen

  • I play metal, but i think it's very sad and immature when people won't even give classical, jazz etc a chance.

  • wonder if his strumming is not all pick but maybe some how mixing in the finger nails too, ala flamenco style. although i am not sure how to do that and hold the pick at the same time.

  • Marco sei grande!!!!!!

  • @seandamondotcom shoulder movment is possibly a way of keeping rythym, not some accidental sign of hero worship. But if you're gonna copy/worship someone, few better than DiMeola, eh? Brilliant piece of music played very very well indeed. A joy. Keep it up.

  • Que pena que la gente no se calle.

  • Absoluter Weltklassegitarrist! Da fehlt nur der Feinschliff. D. h: präzis 12 beats langsamer und klingen lassen. Marco! Weniger mit Gefühl ist mehr!!!
