Senator Schumer: The failure of the government to properly regulate the insurance industry does not justify a government takeover of the insurance industry. We the people are not stupid. You don't eliminate lifetime maximums and denial of insurance because of preexisting conditions without adding cost risk and therefore costs. To claim that this money will come from eliminating fraud and abuse in Medicare given that this has not been accomplished in 45 years is ludicrous. Schumer credibility 0
