Two ways to get rid of industrial farming:

    1. People need to learn to pay the extra cost of local grown food.

    2. The human population needs to decrease

Because you're apparently too slow to understand it.

You know while I have told the correlation between population growth and subsides, you haven't said anything about it. It's only a real argument when the opposing side offers supporting evidence, to there counter argument. All you've said is that I'm "Naïve". So please humor all of us with your vast knowledge of agricultural industry and politics.

I'm not even going to bother arguing with you. It's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about and only want to pat yourself on the back for "hunting". You have a childish knowledge of subsides and the economics of agriculture in general. Naive at best.

Subsidies are a result of a growing population. Besides these poor you speak of, most aren't eating healthy food. They're going to fast food joints, why? because they're cheaper than going to the grocery store. Oh, I forgot, my "progressive friends", are country folk. We grow our own food, and hunt. I don't rely on the government. I also recommend you go to a local butcher shop. The meat they sell may be twice as much, but it's well worth it. If you just want to fill your belly, go to McDonalds

Hahaha, I find it ironic you're accusing me of living in an idealistic world. I'm guessing you have no idea how farm subsidies, or any other part of the agricultural architecture of this country work. You must go to organic markets with your "progressive" friends and pat each other on the back for "buying local" and paying three times the usual price. All the while, ignoring the rest of the population who can't afford it because they didn't have upper middle class white parents. How naive.
