Speciaal voor Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen heeft de Deens-IJslandse kunstenaar Olafur Eliasson in 2005 een werk ontwikkeld waarin de visualisering van lichtgolven centraal staat. Notion motion, een interactieve installatie van 1500 m2, is deze zomer weer te zien.

Notion motion bestaat uit drie delen, waarin de interactie tussen water, licht en de bezoeker centraal staat. Met eenvoudige bestanddelen heeft Eliasson een fabelachtig werk gemaakt. Hij dompelt de beschouwer onder in een overweldigende visuele wereld, die tegelijkertijd ook heel simpel en minimaal is. Dit alles wordt zichtbaar gemaakt door een wisselende interactie tussen licht en water.

In 2005 the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson developed a work especially for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in which the central theme was the visualisation of light waves. Notion Motion, an interactive installation covering 1,500 m2, can be seen again this summer.

Notion motion by Olafur Eliasson consists of three parts that explore the interaction between water, light and the viewer. Eliasson has created an enchanting work with simple means. He immerses the viewer in a simple and minimal yet overwhelming visual experience created by the interplay of light and water.
