Senator Joe Kyrillos (R-13) appeared this morning on Varney and Co. on Fox Business to talk about the need to reform New Jersey's outdated civil service laws and make changes to public worker pension and health benefits that taxpayers can no longer afford.
The appearance was prompted by the Senator's call to immediately fire 17 Monmouth County SCAT bus drivers who apparently called out sick to attend a pro-union rally at the State House in Trenton, stranding 174 disabled and elderly clients who depend on SCAT buses for transportation to doctors and other vital services.

Everyone understands that reforms are needed bu it would be nice if one of them mentioned that the State of NJ has not contributed a penny of its yearly pension contribution obligation in 13 of the last 15 years including Republican Gov Whitman who basically borrowed from the fund in order to finance her tax cuts. Gov. Christie's total pension contribution on the $3 billion dollar payment that was due in fiscal 2011 was 0 (and the Gov still claims he balanced the budget, lol!!!)
