Sequence from The Third Man (Carol Reed, 1949) with Joseph Cotten and Valli being surrounded by bystanders, and a little boy pointing out Cotten as the murderer of the porter. An ensemble of characters reminiscent of James Ensor's paintings, and Fellini's movies.
@wawawaanita1 That we don't know. We do know that the boy tries to betray and deliver Joseph Cotten to the people, while Harry is beyond any social morale. I.e. the boy is "good", Harry is "bad" from a slave morality's point of view (cf. Nietzsche).

I never though of that, but yes, he does only appear at night. The moonfaced boy seems to live in Harrys apartment, but why?

@wawawaanita1 Interesting take! Isn't Harry's face usually moonlit as he only appears at night?

The small boy has to be Harry Lime's son. He looks like a baby Orson Welles. He is credited as 'moon-faced boy', which isn't enough. Was the boy story chopped or may we never know?
