A perfect day for flying solar balloons! This balloon was built from only 7 60-gallon trash bags.

  • So are these filled with regular air abd then the dark plastic absorbs heat and causes the air inside to warm up and then the ballon gets lighter and floats/flys? These don't have helium or some other light gas to make them fly?

  • @bjcpc0337 That is correct. See our web site where it's all explained, and even how to make them

  • What is up with the fun park ? did it get hit by a tornado?great vid five star!!

  • Haha, the carnival was just set up there for the weekend. Came in on big trucks and was set up pretty quickly.

    Thanks for rating

  • How many .mils are the bags?

  • This balloon was made from 0.55mil LLDPE (low linear density polyethylene). I wouldn't go much thicker than this for a tube, since tubes are some of the least efficient designs (smaller volume to surface area ratio)

  • Kim Kardashian got one as a wedding gift, and got really excited. I don't think she realizes its just a black balloon.

  • Why did u let it go you should of put on string

  • You should put a cat in there!

No don't. That's the meanest thing I've ever heard.

  • @catman529

    Very cool, thanks!

  • What kind of bags are these and where did you get them? I'm looking for low density bags of that mils and 60 gallon size...

  • @saulkj98 Actually it was late fall in the video, somewhat cool, although some balloons (especially larger non-tube-shaped balloons) can fly in hot weather. I do have the most success though in the middle of winter under clear skies.

  • can you ride it? lol

  • @Fizzokizzo OMG it realy does!

    Take cover!!
