Acoustic folk song(The devil and the morning dew )Original song...I've been having some strange dreams lately, and this song came about after one of the dreams stuck in my mind. So I wrote down what i could remember yesterday then put it to music. Hope you like it...Mel




I was a soldier, on my way home after the war, I had nothing left to say, and nothing left worth fighting for
I came upon a place, a place i'd never been, it looked to me familiar, I think i'd seen it in a dream
I came upon a place leading down the devils mouth, I should have headed north instead I headed south
I came upon a girl by a clean clear crystal stream, her dress was shimmering in the moonlight and her eyes were emerald green

And when my senses had cleared and returned to me, she asked how long i'd travelled, and come and rest here by this tree
And then she gazed at me with her big green emerald eyes, my future flashed right there before me, I knew i'd be here till I die
was this a dream i'd dreamed, I willed myself to wake, and in the night when time was right, my chances I would take,
as the dawn was breaking, I headed back towards the sun, I looked up to the sky, saw a bird that flew
i know she'll haunt me, she will never let me go, I am caught between the devil and the morning dew, caught between the devil and the morning dew, caught between the devil and the morning dew

Gorgeous song....after nine months it's about time someone commented on it again. I know what you mean about those dreams that have soundtracks in them. Sometimes you just gotta get up and record them before they're gone. Glad you caught this one in time.
