America's Next Top Model Cycle 9 - 1st Photo Shoot

The models are introduced to their new "green" form of transportation by Jay Manuel. Later on, they move into their mansion and J. Alexander gives them a lesson on style. Soon after, a feud breaks out between Bianca and Lisa, and Heather starts to feel out of place. Many girls begin talking behind her back about her autism issues, pushing Heather to tears as she calls her mother. The models then participate in a photo shoot portraying the negative aspects of smoking. Lisa, Chantal, and Heather pull out great shots while Mila, Bianca, and Ebony struggle. At judging, Tyra announces a smoking ban is in effect for all of the contestants so that young girls will not be influenced to start smoking. The only known smoker in this cycle is Jenah.

Much to the surprise of fellow contestants, as well as herself, Heather is called first due to having the strongest two shots. Her ability to transform from an awkward, nerdy presence to high fashion is the main reason for her first call out. Ebony is in the bottom two due to the fact that she couldn't put her potential on film. Mila is eliminated because she couldn't stop laughing during the shoot and she had trouble getting in touch with her emotions, resulting in a "dead" face in her photograph.
