This is part 5 of my 164 cabride series. Today we finish up our trip with the short ride from Wilmington, DE to Philadelphia's 30th St Station on the SEPTA R2 line. Enjoy the SEPTAs and Amtraks we pass along the line.
I meant northbound between Washington and Baltimore, as I sometimes mix them up since I'm not familiar with the northeast xD, mainly Maryland just like you said. On a few videos including from Seabrook there are Amtraks including Acelas that use the southbound local track, while northbounds use the center track. I'm not sure about using the center track going northbound, because not far after New Carrollton it goes two-tracked up to Washy and you could crashy crashy and/or get a nice red!
I don't know whether or not the express track is strictly southbound. I know if it's 4 tracks, northbound Amtraks use the second track from the right, but if it's only 3 tracks I'm not sure. I would think both of them are allowed to use it. Look at Maryland for example. The NEC there is for the most part 3 tracks and with MARC running on the locals at least half the day, I don't see how you can expect Amtrak to use the local. They probably have to alternate between local and express.
What puzzled me in your other video is that you took the express track going northbound...from what I can infer isn't it strictly southbound? Even though you got to pass the Acela, if you didn't you'd either run head on with another train or get a nice red without the option to switch over. I can see why 2250 had to be moved though, slow AI traffic ftl.
Oh, I see what you're saying. This is just how I dispatch my traffic in the activity editor. I always get the express (middle tracks) and my traffic gets the local (side tracks) when possible. This prevents me from getting a bunch of reds from a slow train (remember the video when my 96 MPH Silver Star passed an 80 MPH Acela Express in a 110 zone in New Carollton?) during the trip.
What's 2250 doing on the SEPTA line? Of course you have MSTS to blame for all the slow traffic especially in this part of the line, though. The passengers on it will be really happy to be caught behind a SEPTA train and be passed by you!
Ever hear of passenger comfort levels, i think someone hit their head/fell down/spilt steaming hot coffee on them or someone else. Great job!

What do you mean?

On the SEPTA line? Look how far it is from that SEPTA train!
ChainChomp2 3 years ago
Yes it would. :)

Would that be 2250 at 8:02?
