Quick size comparison between the Nikon SB 600 SB 700 and the SB 900 hotshoe mounted flash units.
The SB 700 is a nice upgrade and a perfect compromise between the SB 600 and the larger SB 900. The SB-600 has since been discontinued.
The upgraded display panel with master commander and external diffusers with sturdy colored correction filter gels that snap right onto the front of the flash head really makes this a winner.

The diffuser isn't a wide angle anything. The plastic cover built into the unit that slides out is the wide angle adapter (from 24mm to 14mm).

@blickblocks It does help diffuse and spread out the light. When both flip down cover and external diffuser are used at the same time, you get a nice soft look, at the cost of some light loss.

@LEXPIX Yes it does, it's a diffuser. it's not a wide angle adapter.

@blickblocks If I said wide angle adapter, I meant diffuser. i have three and know better.

My SB-700 has a green backlight. I have actually never seen the SB-700 with blue backlight before I saw this video. Do you know if there are SB-700's with different backlight color? And thanks for making this size comparison :)

@erik75648 The blueish one is the only one I'm aware of.
