The first footage of our endangered tree kangaroo joey fully outside of its mother's pouch. Seen here at eight months old. The joey and its mother, Elanna, are living in a quiet, behind-the-scenes exhibit at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington.
Woodland Park Zoo is home to the Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program that is working to protect the endangered tree kangaroo and help maintain the unique biodiversity of its native Papua New Guinea in balance with the culture and needs of human communities. Those tails are impressive.

That little joey is so cute. Looks like he's about to outgrow Momma's pouch pretty soon! It's nice that we have Zoos that can raise endangered animals. I hope this pair has a place to live and the future generations of Tree Kangaroos.
