Awww hes sooooooo cute!!! Finally someone that treats their frog ike a dog or a cat or something they really love. Usually its just: Oh,look at me im the kid with the vicious frog that eats pinkies. What kind frog is it? I have a baby green tree frog. I haven't named it yet because I don't know how to tell gender yet.

@Sford0dude5 Also, breeding programs for endangered animals have to be some of my favorite ways to keep an animal in captivity, because they're not used as reproduction machines, as there's no real money in it, and it's done to bring a species back from possible extinction, therefore everything has to be as close to their natural habitat as possible. Enclosure, food, even the water temperature sometimes. Those programs give the animals the respect they deserve.

@Sford0dude5 I don't really recall saying it's sick at all. I have no problem with people keeping frogs as pets, I was just stating that if people don't take proper care of a pet, then I find it disturbing and wrong. But if someone has the capability to own a pet and take care of it, then I see no problem. I was just saying it was a two sided argument. I own numerous pets myself, including three geckos and a python, but I spoil them, just as everyone should if owning a pet.

@Sford0dude5 See, the things is, you can only say that about some animals. Just because it's captive bred doesn't mean it lacks the ability to live in the wild, especially when it comes to frogs. Frogs are instinctual animals, therefore meaning they'd have no problem going from captivity to the wild. Animals that learn, such as dogs have a much harder time adapting. The fact the frog was dead was most likely caused by environmental issues or predation. Cats will kill and leave pray.

Why thank you for your kind comment. First of all, "it" is a he. There are no "its", human or amphibian. You'll be happy to know that Bud has received major upgrades to his living space since this video was taken. He has a wonderful home and a wonderful mommy. He's probably the most loved froggy around. Keep up the thoughtful and well stated remarks. At least you used the correct form of its, and didn't put an apostrophe in there!

sorry, I'm back again. You and little Bud are just so sweet. I loved the way he seemed to be reaching out for you at the beginning of the video. I know Bud will have a long and happy life with you as his mama.

you are awesome and very sweet to share your thoughts with me and my sweet bud. If you knew his story of resilience, you'd love him even more! I've had him for almost 7 years and he has been through all kinds of froggy illnesses...an ulcer and tumor on his eye just to name a few...and I've nursed him back to health with my love (and a wonderful vet :) ). He's pretty much the coolest frog around :) It makes us happy when other people can appreciate his cuteness! Do you have any frogs?
