@IfUrGivingIn A random equation is self-contradictory. And as I stated, natural selection could be express as an equation, IF you knew all the variables or set the number of variables you wanted for said equation.

Do you not accept that genetics is the foundation of Modern Synthesis?

Do you accept the example of tracing lineage as supporting the evolutionary model?

Your comment said "natural phenomenon", if you are referring to a specific type of natural phenomenon you need to specify that.

@IfUrGivingIn Random mutations and natural selection is a Darwinian concept. Modern Synthesis is explained through genetics. Tracing lineage though genetic markers to a common ancestor is exactly what evolution predicts.

Not all natural phenomenon can be expressed in equation form. There is no equation for why cats meow or dogs bark, no equation for where hail will strike the ground, and none for why I can never find a good parking place.

Although, if you are asking for an equation for random mutation and natural selection then your question is completely nonsensical. Random mutations are random. Natural selection has too many variables to be translated correctly to an equation.

First you asked for an answer the ‘demarcation problem’. Then changed to asking for ‘an algorithm which illustrates the general principles being communicated by the theory of evolution’. Then changed to an equation for the ‘principles which evolution draw’. Now you want equations for all the mechanisms within Evolutionary Theory?

What you are asking seems nonsensical….

@GrendelNin (cont...) Darwinian Evolution was driven by a combination of natural selection and random mutations. But in his time genetics was completely unknown. He knew nothing about recombination, changes in gene frequency, genetic drift or even DNA itself. Modern Evolutionary Theory, usually referred to as the Modern Synthesis, has itself evolved beyond anything Darwin could have imaged.
