John Muir (The Ballad of)

The Black Irish Band perform their original song "The Ballad of John Muir" The song was written in 1991 and it appeared on the bands very first album, The Forgotten Fields of America. The song will be re-released on the bands 19th album, "California Story", CD due out in the summer of 2008. Member Patrick Michael Karnahan wrote the song because of his love for the writings of John Muir. At the age of 11 Patrick read the "Mountains of California" and wanted to live out his life in the mountains.

This song with the words & music can be found on the Sierra Clubs official John Muir web-site. It is one of the few songs written about Muir.

The California Story CD album will feature special guests Michael Martin Murphey, Mary YoungBlood (Grammy Award Winner), and Matt Jardin, (former Beach Boy).
