A recording of David's song "Shadows" at the TV studio on the campus of Drury U. in Springfield, MO. "Shadows" is also on David's CDs "Corners" and "Good Tar."
I saw David in concert last night at 'The Old Firehouse' in Edom, Texas. (12 miles or so west of Tyler) Shadows is a fantastic instrumental. The crowd seemed absolutely in awe of what he was dong during this number.
I talked to David after the show, and he said that this song is his homage to Michael Hedges.
By the way, David is now playing a beautiful Taylor guitar, which delivers unbelievable bass tones. And. believe it or not, he now sports a bald head.
Before he retired from touring, he played an annual concert at the college I went to - awesome guy. He hung out with us for a "jam session" after every concert - I can say that I've played every guitar he's toured with in the last decade - including that Takamine he's playing in this clip.
I've gotten to meet him a couple of times and he's the most down to earth guy you'll ever meet. It's a shame he'll be taking a break for a while but, all power to him for getting that rotary peace scholarship.
