  • as far as i am concern both IR and ARR are two great living legend of our time. Both are having their own styles and un comparable each other because IR has composed evergreen tamil songs which are so popular amongs tamiians. but ARR brought revolution to tamil music and he has been able to break all the barrier and reach the great height in music which is beyond boundaries. if IR have 5 billion fans, ARR has around 200 billion fans all over the globe and is increasing..

  • @lalbhairec, we cannot accept your comment. because ARR @ his best now this is the period in which he got OSCAR, GOLDEN GLOBE, BAFTA etc. and nominated for GRAMMY also composed first hollywood soundtrack for couples retreat. also in tamil his recent hits like in "Sivaji, ATM, jillunu oru kadhal, sakkarakatti etc" also in hindi delhi6, gagini etc.. this time he more popular than ever before.

  • People out of india don't know about IR, but ARR is well known world wide specially in south asia. beyond country. he is more popular in north india and malasia, sri lanka, singapore etc.. but IR has composed evergreen songs we agree, but not now, even IR cannot compose such songs at present.

  • Calling Indian Cinema as Bollywood is 'Limiting the spectrum' Perfect way to describe. Good that he brought out that there are a lot of other film industries in India.

  • Rahman is very clear about what he is saying. bringing indian cultural music to globe wide.

  • Ar Rahman should do more TAMIL movies

  • waow real tamilan hello he is a tamilan dont forget it

  • I have always opposed the term bollywood used by the media. And mumbai produces same type of movies and music in all movies so we are tired of it. Bored of too much punjabi in every movie

  • There is much more happening in terms of creativity in south india than in mumbai. I don't understand any south indian languages but I am fan of ARR and Hariss Jayraj

  • AR Rahman is a musical genius. I have been listening to his music for the past 17 years ? SInce that beautiful movie ROJA.

First he entered the Tamil entertainment stage

Then he entered into the National entertainment stage.

    Now he has gone global.

    Fantastic fella...

  • hey 200billion???its more than worlds population dude,,,this is too much,,,but anyway our darling AR.RAHMAN rocks....

  • I just wish people abroad realise that there is more that just Bollywood which represents Indian Cinema. With no disrespect to bollywood movies, movies made from other parts of the country also had a good in storyline, actors, actresses and technicians as any other in the world. Its a shame its not given its due recognition and respect which it so deserves.

  • the 1ly genuies. How got the oscar to inda. nothing else can say about him

  • oh shit thats siiik
