ok let's get this straight it's being going on too long. Football is called football because you are only allowed to touch the ball with your feet hence the foot-ball unless you're a goal keeper or taking a throw in. American football...first off its not a ball its an egg and second you hold the egg and run hence the more suitable name Hand-egg. All other countries call it football too eg Spain = 'futbol'

@MrJacobey123 just because "football players" are larger doesn't mean that soccer players aren't great athletes either. I mean who wants to see 6'5 muscular guys running around in soccer? It's just not what the sport is like. I'm sorry if I offended anyone by not calling it football but I didn't want to confuse "american football" and the football that the rest of the world knows. and you are also saying that it takes more discipline. soccer takes a great deal of discipline and strategy as well

hold on.. i played both football and soccer at a very competitive level and dont get me wrong, i love american football but soccer takes way more skill..football you work your ass off but unless your a quarterback football does not take as much skill. most average people can run through and tackle better than they can juggle a soccer ball..and soccer is the most played sport in the world look it up dont make us americans look stupid
