Rainstorm in Hotel Hallway

Woke up around 5:15 AM to a fire alarm and 3/4" of water on my hotel room floor after a the solder joint in a copper union failed on the hot water main, just 8 hours after a plumber had repaired a small leak in the pipe inside the ceiling of the second floor hallway. Reportedly, water pressure in surrounding apartment buildings dropped off to the point where there wasn't even enough water flow to brush your teeth. In all, 15 rooms on two floors were water damaged but the hotel staff handled it all quite well.

That water coming into contact with light fixtures is a serious fire hazard.

the fire alarm goes off only if it's the fire sprinkler system. This hotel can be not sprinklered. If a sprinkler head,or pipe bursts,this is cold,stagnant,stink,and sometimes,black water pours. But if a plumbing water pipe bursts,this is clear,potable,cold,or hot water pours. The fire alarm not goes off,because it's not the sprinkler system,but the plumbing stsyem,for toilets,bathrooms,sinks in rooms.

I'm surprised the fire alarms didn't get set off sometimes water dripping on the smoke/heat detectors can cause that happen
