so maybe to a casual gamer like me (not like MLG hardcore gaming) a HD5850 would be a better choice of video cards than the HD5970? (as in budget and stuff)

I wouldve gotten this had it been cheaper.

Was the 850 MHz clock and 1200 MHz memory the absolute max you could push the card to?
I'm thinking about using this card in my summer build and would like to know if the overclock you achieved is typical or if it was the maximum overclock for your particular card.
I know every card overclocks differently but it would be nice to be able to mirror the results you got. Also, I'm new to overclocking. Was the voltage increase relatively large or small?

@touchdowntexas13 This was a typical overclock. you can do better.

how come you never have your fan speed at 100% i keep seeing 45% that would reduce your temp by a lot
justafatcell 1 year ago
Having the Fan at 100% constant is overkill, too loud and also wears down the fan. The temps stay well within limits and not high at 45%, and its not as loud.

@PCWizKid What do you think is is better a 5870 or two 5770s???
Thet3 1 year ago
@Thet3 let me review the 5870. Bottom line is 1 good card is better than 2 cheaper ones, however this is a close call.
