And to think hat June took over the Lucia di Lammermoors from Joan Sutherland at Covent Garden but nobody seems to remember that. It just marked her talent, although she never reappeard at Covent Garden.

A lovely lady, and a gifted and versatile performer. At times, her classical singing lacked discipline, but the voice itself was very warm and beautiful.

The english Lyrics are a bit different I think than some of the other english lyrics I have heard in other versions of this translation. Do you know what these lyrics are that she sings in this version? The first part sounds like oh my beloved daddy. How could you be so cruel? But then I am not sure.. I know you posted this 2 years ago but I would really appreciate it! Thank You!!!

June was one of the nicest and most talented singers to come from Australia.
I fist saw here as Gretel at Sadlers Wells when I was a child.
Saw her in so many productions in London including Robert & Elizabeth and her one off guest appearance at the Coliseum for the Merry Widow. I late saw her in Australia in Melbourne in Pirates of Penzance and a later in a one woman concert.
She became a friend over the years and her voice lives on in the many superb recordings.
