"Ms. Barnes told the crowd Tuesday that the incumbent's campaign has begun "the exact set of tactics we would anticipate." During a trip to Washington, D.C., earlier this month, she was followed to a restaurant by a person holding a video camera. When she left the restaurant an hour later, a person shooting video approached her.
The YouTube video of the encounter, which the National Republican Congressional Committee distributed to the news media, shows a clip in which someone repeatedly asks (five times in 39 seconds) about the price of gas in her home district. At one point, Ms. Barnes says, "You all need to get a life."
The Democrat said she had filled her tank before flying to Washington, knew what she paid per gallon but declined to engage the person tracking her."
