Ofc I backpaddle in PvE, l2p. Backpaddling makes you move at 35% speed which makes finding exact range to stand at easier. Only reason not to backpaddle is if you have to move faster, which isn't the case here.
Also it wouldn't be very enjoyable watching this if I turned my camera 90 degrees to sidestrafe back everytime either huh? I try to keep my camera as steady as possible while recording.
I have to disagree, my scorch is at 36 yards range, and I want to be as close to 36 yards from the boss as possible, to ensure that even if the tank moves a little I wont come into shadow nova range. Using backpedelling I can get closer to this exact range that I want to be at, since tapping S moves me only 65% of the distance that tapping W or A / D would. Also finding the range fast here isn't an issue, since I'm mostly chilling in p1 anyway cuz of agro.
@Malowiiy There's times where you backpedal more than 'tap s'. For example at 0:27 where someone overaggros, you walk slowly backward when your intention appears to be avoiding getting hit by prince or some mechanic
In those cases I move back in order to get a clearer view over the situation, turning camera and side-strafing would be defeating the purpose entirely.

@Malowiiy The frapsing thing is maybe true. But finding range easier is l2p :P
You get to the range you're trying to find faster by moving forwards, and can cast more
Backpaddling is never an advantage, but it's not necessarily a big disadvantage...and it's 'easier'
