Wow...this just kicked every scoffer who says James can't sing heavily right in the teeth, in my opinion. Ever since Octavarium I have been pleased with the way his voice has started sounding again (due to the unfortunate vocal cord accident), and this just shows that his voice is far from done. Very impressive track. I love what he and DT both are doing.

As a major Dream Theater fan, it's really cool to see James in a more creative setting lyrically. While he adds to DT with his voice, his lyrical contributions are very minor, and he really seems to sing with more ownership and conviction on his solo records in my opinion.

I wish I could like melodic metal. Most of it I just can't stand--particularly the choruses that all sound the same: They invariably revolve around doing a major 3rd power chord movement, and I hear it OVER AND OVER again, including in this song (C# to A). It's so trite it makes me wanna vomit. I wish LaBrie had stayed away from this style.
