Zephyr Technology supplied a device that allowed doctors to monitor vital signs of miners. Rescue workers couldn't get normal hospital equipment down to miners so Zephyr supplied a pack that goes around the chest to monitor vitals via remote control. Miners were kept active and healthy and given pre-medication while they were monitored for 69 days. Doctors had a good understanding of their health before they were rescued. Dr. Samadi described this incredible technology as a GPS to monitor heart rate, blood pressure and skin temperature. In the future, such a device could monitor patients at home. This technology blueprint is already used by firefighters and the US Army and has been hailed as a medical miracle.
