@sedro32 I am a bit disturbed by your comment. You do realize that there are millions of amazing horses that ran those tracks before Zenyatta? Let me see here, there is first off Secretariat who dominated his racing career. Seabiscuit, who won the hearts of America during the Great Depression. Affirmed, Barbaro, Bold Ruler, Busher, Cigar, Citation, Count Fleet, etc. So Zenyatta wouldn't be the greatest thoroughbred ever to touch a dirt track.
Unriveled Belle is NO Slouch. Rachel the best 3 Year old Filly I have seen in the last 2 decades. Winning Colors is still my favorite Grinder. But Did Unriveled Belle Not just win the 2010 BC Ladies Classic??. So that loss is certainly no slap on Rachel and her competition.
Belle is a sister of Eight Belles. She is a wonderful, beautiful .. and the list could go forever. It is one of my favorite horse racing. I already showed its better than the horse of the year. RA
all you have to do is put your life savings on her and she will blow out the field.
male, female, dont matter.
its sad how RA gets more attention than a horse that has won a BC ladies classic and a BC classic and is 19-0. and will most likely end her career winning her third classic, 20-0.
she is a great horse, and one of the best fillies of all time. but why would you marvel over her, when their is another horse named zenyatta who IS the best filly of all time running at the same time that is 19-0 and is running tomorow to try to win her 2nd BC classic in a row?
and if she wins, she wont just be the greatest filly, she will be the greatest thorobred ever to touch a dirt track. 20-0
Well, she's confirmed for the Fleur de Lis, a Grade 2, against 4 other gals. She should blow them away, and if she doesn't, her people need to stop pretending it's a conditioning issue. Good luck to her. Last work was not blazing but was apparently under restraint.
@CrispinFlora Finally-- and most importantly-- Rachel is improving. It'd be one thing if she looked worse in the LaTroienne than she did in the NO Ladies, but she looked ten times better. If she's still improving, this next race should silence all those calling for her retirement. That might be wishful thinking on my part, but maybe this losing streak is a blessing in disguise in that way. Now the pressure is off, and she can come back on her own terms.
@CrispinFlora I don't count Rachel out just yet for several reasons: first, her layoff. Enough's been said on that. Second, her acceleration earlier in the season thanks to the commotion over the Apple Blossom. Trying to force her into top form in so short an amount of time after that kind of layoff was bound to backfire. Third, her year last year as compared to Zenyatta's. Seeing those two campaigns side by side, it's not shocking Rachel's a little slower coming back this season.

Yes She should. I'm more concerned this time @ her fractions. A fast racehorse not running fast is trouble.
