This is the Ayala Vocal Ensemble performing at the closing ceremonies of the Internacional de Coros in Lima, Peru. Each choir was asked to select 2 songs to perform at the ceremony that they felt best represented their group. Ayala Vocal Ensemble performed:

1. Ave Maria by Joshua B. Himes
2. Bin-nam-ma by Alberto Grau (starts at 3:35)

After the performance, Mr. Aaron Rodriguez is presented with an award of recognition. The Ayala Vocal Ensemble was the only choir at the festival representing the United States.

  • The Ave Maria you wrote was sung at Orange County's Golden State South in May of 2010 :) It's a beautiful peace and I feel honored to have sung this song

  • @huyandhieu - Thank you!

I am aware of it being sung at the Golden State competition. I was there!

  • @JBH113087 - Oh my goodness you were? I wasn't aware! I would have wanted to meet you! It's been a few months, but all of us who sang this in Madrigals are still enamored by this song when our director mentions Golden State South. I would really like to meet you some day since I don't go to Ayala.

  • @huyandhieu - I would've enjoyed meeting you as well. What school are (were) you from?

  • DUDE! Let's go back.

  • @JBH113087 - Excuse me, I mean we did get 5th place

  • @JBH113087 - I still go to Aliso Niguel High School. We were the choir that almost tied for 5th place and had a... Less than graceful final song :P

  • Wow... I wish I had gotten into the Vocal Ensemble now. x3

But, I'm equally as proud to be in the Women's Ensemble right now. Heck, I'm proud to be going to Ayala High School!

Amazing job, Mr. Himes! This piece is absolutely beautiful, and I hope to get the chance to sing it one day. :P

  • I am proud to have seen this live!!!
