Dear 1952 Kid, There were also alot of great kids tv shows that aired in the NYC viewing area back in the 1950's.too!

 They were hosted by Ray Heatherton,Claude Kirchner,
Buster Crabbe,Bob Keeshan,Bill Britten,Joe Bolton,Allen Swift.etc.

143ac , I do remember all of those, my memory starts at about 1956 and remember a little of Super Circus , at 4 or 5 years old. Thanks for reminding me of the mid 1950's ,it was as good as the 1960's .

Anybody remember him singing Pachalafika on The Ed Sullivan Show? He was at a cocktail table with a Lady. Her back was to the camera. The song finished. She turned around. And it was Ed Sullivan in drag!

I am proud to say I knew Soupy , Zacherly and Sandy Becker....my earliest heros...all great men who loved the kids and they loved them....all but Zacherly are gone...he can still be seen at hte Chiller Theatre expo each October and april in the Meadowlands...go see Zach..while he is still with us...Rest Ine Peace Soupy and Sandy...we loved you!

There was Black tooth who was often described by Soupy as the sweetest Doggie in the world as opposed to White Fang who was his doggie but not always as nice!

Soupy was a class act...he loved the kids...and was a joy for a lot of us ! Rest in Peace Soupy I know you and Frank are playing to a packed house tonight!

R.I.P. Dear Soupy. How blessed that you knew this warm and wonderful man. I've read that he was very kind to all his fans, and *rarely* refused an autograph. I will miss him.
