All News to me! I was not aware that the 11th Soke had named a 12th. Is there any other way one can succeed. Its about time Nippon Budokan stopped people joining Pefectural Kendo Renmei to try and be recognized 'officially'.

I didn't say he is soke did I? Iwami Toshio is the soke, Yoshimochi Kiyoshi is the 12th generation and 10th generation of Gosho-ha, there is a difference between a generational head and a headmaster, once you realize this you'll understand.

i thought iwami toshio was soke of the main line of niten ichi ryu. someone enlighten me on this.

Both are. The lineage splintered iafter the 10th generation. Iwami is the 11th successor of one of the lines and Yoshimochi Sensei is the 12th successor of the other.
Yoshimochi Sensei succeded Kiyonaga Fumiya, deceaded in 2004.
