Those Jack Creavelle are tough on conventional tackle. Spinning gear w/17 lb test line, fought one for 1 hr. 15 mins. before it spit the hook. Another time found whole school under bait ball. Same rig and line test, took over an hour. Landed and released. Over 25 lbs. If they can find the bottom or a sandbar, they'll try to break off by digging their head into the sand just like a pompano will do sometimes. Not very edible but fun to catch. Wonder what they're like on spear rig?
