ziplock omlette

I wanted to give this a try, making an omlette by using a Ziplock bag. It would be great for those who go camping or might not have access to a frying pan, but if I was at home then I would not make my omlette this way. It is pretty simple, the only thing is you have to hold this bag in the boiling water to cook the omlette.

Dude, loved the narration.... looks cool, but don't think my schedule would let me use 17 minutes (gotta get the water to boil first) of camp fuel for one meal..... but, great idea and works with other things as well... Keep the vids coming!

Use an oven bag to boil the omlette in, don't beleive they are toxic, I use them to make my turkey in every year. You can boil up meat in them too over a fire pit, no need to carry a pan and they take up no more room then a plastic zip lock bag but have more uses, I think. nice vid buddy

You just had a crappy bag. I do it all the time with ziploc brand freezer bags works fine.

According to a University of Illinois press release, the Ziploc Omelet is toxic. There is still question about the cancer causing breakdown of plastics and their contact with food during cooking. They contacted the Ziploc company and they replied by stating that ZIPLOC® brand Bags cannot be used to boil food.
