Here is my homemade function generator that can produce a square, triangle, and sign wave. This is all done with a few bucks worth of parts. The heart of the function generator is a LM324N quad OpAmp.

Here is a link to the site where you can purchase the kit or just download the user manual complete with schematic.

  • have you tried any other op-amps. Maybe one with better slew rates, etc? Just wondering.

  • @ElektroHut Nope I have not tried any others, to many other projects to do!

  • set your trigger

  • Man, that is frickin' awesome!

  • its something wrong if i use polyester capacitors??

  • Hey where in the schematic did you add a light for power?

  • could we buy then pre-assembled? i am not too good at assembly and soldering, and i need a lower range signal generator.(not too expensive)

  • Don't know what the four diodes do? They act like a pos/neg voltage limiter (2x0.6V), which due to the diode forward current characteristics transform the incoming triangle wave to a "almost-sinwave".

  • Good job.
