@ndodro Thanks. Mr. Jarvis should not be forgotten too. A frequent Blue Note contributor, I heard him several times playing with Mr. Hubbard. Somehow these great drummers had many things in common -- the most important being playing for the music. As is the case of Mr. Victor Lewis and Mr. Lewis Nash, to name a few. I contend, however, that Mr. AT had this command, this strong drive, that is an absolute.
Mr. At was somethin' else. No frills, just effing swing and drive power! I have grown up worshiping Elvin and Tony. But if you ask me whom I would emulate if I could I would say, right away - Art Taylor!
Sonny Rollins and Art Taylor in the same tune. Seeing the way that Taylor sits in the back literally controlling the song whilst Rollins smoothes it off. - Only two people could pull off something so professionally but with such smooth naturally. Magical moment watching them play together. Must have been a certain Jazzy 'shit'n'gig' at Casa de Paris - What a beauty.

@rmoraespinto Right, check Clifford Jarvis after Mr. AT, they have in common that deep commitment to the band ...
