Mormon Temples Cameroon LDS Mormons trip to the Nigeria Mormon Temple
Mormon Temple President Gordon B. Hinckley dedicated the Aba Nigeria Temple on Sunday, August 7, 2005. Two weeks later a courageous group of Saints from Cameroon boarded two mini-buses and headed to the temple. The two branches of the Church in Cameroon are Douala and Yaounde. Members from both branches were included in this trip. As the crow flies, Aba is only about 175 miles west of Douala. Douala is 125 miles west of Yaounde. The roads from Douala to Aba are not direct, nor are they paved.

These Saints, accompanied by Elder and Sister Badger, set off on a real life adventure.

kosskelly: This is the photographer's story in pictures and song of how faithful, determined Nigerian LDS struggled & sacrificed to visit the Lord's House with their families for the first time. To me it's a big deal and so touching and inspirational. It's not abt the condition of the roads really, but of the Journey, & the prize at the end of it. To see these sweet saints in their good clothes smiling in many of fthe pictures during their ordeal really touches my soul. : )

@axtro7698 Dama o caballero, me e tomado el tiempo para escrivirle despues de ver este video, le pido por favor que lo que le voy a decir sera con las mas honestas intesiones de ayudarle a entender, y d antemano le pido disculpas x el dolor o colera que le causare cuando le diga que Joseph Smith fue y sera un falso profeta. Muchas de sus profecias no llegaron a pasar consas que lo hace un falso profeta, ademas y dijo en su libro si tiene uno que el habia hecho mas que Jesus.

I watch this video and think 'Really'? 175 miles over 2 1/2 days of treacherous conditions just to go to a huge building where they can recite old confusing and meaningless masonic rituals? If only those 'sacrificing' efforts could have been put to use doing something really worthwhile. It's obvious from the pictures that there are more worthwhile efforts for these folks to dedicate themselves to.
